Bodies, Rest & Motion (1993)
Beth: You've lived here all your life?
Sid: Traveling has no allure for me... only through time.
Beth: That's not offered.
Sid: Hey, Beth-- leave it behind.
Beth: Leave what behind?
Sid: Come hold me, and you'll be happy.
Beth: That's bullshit. I'm sorry Sid but you have to find happiness in your self.
Sid: That's wrong. People tell you that. But that's wrong.
Beth: It's not.
Sid: It is. I know people that have that 'happiness from within' but that is just them being pleased with themselves. It's not enough.
Beth: no, you're being naive.
Beth: You've just been stuck in this town. You don't know.
Sid: I know two people can meet each other and
Sid: ...like that it's like they've never been alone.
Carol: You get all the stuff that you want to sell, and I'll make some yard sale signs.
Beth: No one's gonna buy my shit. It's all junk.
Carol: That's what people buy at yard sales.
Beth: I have to find happiness in myself.
Sid: No, that's wrong. People tell you that, but it's wrong. I've lived with people who have that 'happiness from within', that happiness... it's just them being pleased with themselves. It's not enough. It's a lonely thing.
Nick: You agreed to try Butte.
Beth: I know. Butte, Montana, 'city of the future'.
Nick: Yeah, and I read that a while ago, so the future's probably already there.
