Based on a true story, 24 March 2004
5/10
Author: tenpercent from Midwest - USA

Joyce is married to Stan, a dentist, and they have one son. One day Joyce pays a visit to Stan's dental office and finds him in the dental chair having a hot session with a woman named Gloria.

Gloria has only been married a couple of months to a guy named Brad - but she's not in love with Brad - that's just for money.

Stan, along with the help of an ex-con he knows, helps Gloria in obtaining this money.

Joyce divorces Stan, but he keeps on hanging around anyway. Why Stan and Gloria don't get married, I never understood. Instead, Stan seems to keep wanting to get Joyce back.

One night while Stan and Joyce are making love, Stan confesses to her about having committed murder, thinking it will turn her on.

Instead it frightens Joyce and arouses her suspicions of Stan in connection with several unsolved murders of people, all of whom in some way link back to Stan.

Joyce contacts the police, who bug her house, and she tries to get Stan to talk.

Now the obvious thing for her to do would be to tell Stan, she's been thinking about what he said that night, and that yeah, it is a turn on, but does she do this? No, instead Joyce goes about trying to get the information from Stan in the most roundabout way possible, with a paranoid, psychotically dangerous Stan becoming increasingly suspicious of her.

The most amazing thing about this story to me,[which is true]was the number of people willing to be an accessory to murder at the drop of a hat if it meant some money coming their way.

Some things were never clear to me regarding motivation and how some of these crimes came about or why.

I gave it a 5 out of 10 stars. Average film.
