About two-thirds into the film, an unconscious man is discovered lying fully clothed on a bed. The first shot of the man shows only his left hand, palm down, near the left side of the bed. A film of espionage with the script under develop.
A young engineer English, (Campbell Scout) is sent to the Berlin later in the WWII, to collaborate with the Americans in a spying mission to the Russians. There he falls in love with a mysterious women (Isabella Rossellini), "Mary", with what begins a promising history of espionage during the "Cold War".
It is an acceptable film "spies" with an entire interesting tunnel secret beneath the streets of Berlin through which the "Allies" check the movements of the East Germans in Germany after World War II; a part of this, the scenes sensual a very beautiful as always Isabella Rossellini doing of hinge between two men,
The love story that is happening in the film moves the center of the argument to the detriment of espionage or mission in the tunnel, which is what in fact maintained the viewer with all his attention. But it will not more, and is a film failed flat, with a dash of which could have given enough of it and that is wasted. Good performance of Anthony Hopkins "Glass" that although figure as a key player in the script appears as supporting actor, but his good work puts him in the front row of the cast.
