One of Carmen Sandiego's many henchmen has stolen a rare cultural object. The Acme Crime Detective Agency hires three gumshoes (contestants) to find the crook and recover the loot. The gumshoe who captures the crook is then given the chance to locate and capture Carmen Sandiego by locating countries on a large map of a continent placed on the floor. The host, The Chief, and a variety of other guests help the gumshoes by supplying clues. A cappella music is performed at the beginning of the show, between game segments, and at the end by Rockapella. Written by

If a gumshoe was able to find the loot, warrant, and crook in the right order on their first turn in the Jailtime Challenge, he/she earned a chance to find a $100 savings bond hidden behind one of the 12 remaining landmarks. Gumshoe Ali Haider was the only one to do this, doing so early in the first season, but did not find the savings bond after five picks from the board. See more »
I was inspired by the Map, where 1 contestant marked out different countries. The reason for this is because, during the front game, the map is darkened, and used for the camera area. Greg used to go to the control room to pick up a clue, and the head technican, Danny, would tell him to leave. Rockapella would occasionally perform "Zombie Jamboree" before singing the end theme, which was neat. Now that "Where in Time Is Carmen Sandiego" has also ended, I hope a new Carmen game show will come. It will probably be Where in the USA or Where in Europe is Carmen Sandiego. Looking forward to seeing the Carmen movie later in the year!
