Walker's full last name is "Firewalker". When his parents died/were killed, he went to an orphanage where the others teased him because he didn't look like a Native American. Therefore, he shortened it to Walker.

The award that C.D. receives for his career in Texas law enforcement is called "The Frank Hamer Award". The award is named after the legendary Texas Ranger who began his career on horseback in the wild west of the 1890s and retired during the gangster era of the 1920s and 1930s.
