Storyline

Rocko is a wallaby who has emmigrated to America from Australia. He lives in O Town and tries to get through life but, of course, comes across a multitude of dilemmas and misadventures he must get through. Other characters include Rocko's best friend, Heffer, a steer who has been raised by wolves, Filbert, an easily upset turtle, and Ed Bighead who detests Rocko and hates having him for a next door neighbor. On this show, Rocko has such adventures as trying to adapt to a new vacuum cleaner, having Heffer move in temporarily after his parents kick him out, and going to a movie theater. Trivia

Rocko was originally supposed to be colored yellow. The color was changed because a toy marketing company informed Nickelodeon that they were interested in producing a doll, but already had a character that was yellow. The color was changed to beige, and, after the pilot aired, Nickelodeon got rid of the toy deal. See more »

Goofs

Animation error: When Rocko is wearing his normal shirt, he is wearing nothing below his waist. He clearly has no pants/underpants of any sort on. But whenever his shirt is removed, he GAINS a pair of underpants. See more »

Quotes

Crude, Rude, and it's one of the best shows on Nickelodeon
17 July 2001 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This show is about a young wallaby named Rocko who moves with his dog Spunky to the United States from the Austrailian Outback. He immediately befriends Heffer Wolf, a steer who was literally raised by a family of wolves. Rocko and Heffer like to hang out around the neighborhood much to the dismay of Ed Bighead, the angry toad who lives next door.

I'm not going to lie, this isn't really a kids show. It contains a lot of adult humor, some wild violence, and a lot of other stuff that most people would label as disgusting.

Rocko's Modern Life is in fact one of the better shows on Nickelodeon and it's actually funny. It's not filled with a lot of stupid sex jokes or worn-out humor that's used on most of the shows that are on Nickelodeon now.
