Trivia:
At the beginning of the film, in his lecture, Jake says something to the effect of, all known serial killers are male -- with exception to a recent case in the United States. It is likely he is referring to Aileen Wuornos, who was arrested and charged in 1992 for murdering seven men. moreGoofs:

Like previous episodes of "Prime Suspect", this one has a very specific theme. The story revolves quite closely around the life of so-called 'rent boys' or the young male prostitutes. Helen Mirren is largely the same material to work with this time around. Once again, she is at odds with her male superiors, who do their best to work around and about and above her.
There's some very excellent acting this time around, mainly by David Thewlis and Peter Capaldi. They both get deep under their respective character's skins. Thewlis, especially, is engaging and infuriating as he dances around questions. There's some personal drama from Mirren's character this time around that is heartbreaking, and well-performed.
This is really more of the same, but in a good way. It takes enough different directions so as to maintain equal quality, and is certainly worth your time if you enjoyed the previous episodes.
RATING: 7.5 out of 10
