Storyline
In the far future, a young man called Justy Tylor is looking for the easy life. To that end, he signs up for the space navy. While his entrance exam ends with him making his computer tester literally malfunction and explode, Earth finds itself in a space-war with an alien enemy called the Raalgon empire and the navy gets a lot less picky as a result. Tylor is assigned to the Benefits and Pension department where he quickly and inadvertently plays a role in resolving a terrorist hostage situation with a retired admiral. As a reward, Tylor is given command of a destroyer. Now he must participate in that war for the safety of Earth in which he proves to be unbeatable. Whether it is by sheer dumb luck or strategic genius, nobody really knows, maybe not even Tylor himself. Written by

I got the DVD on spec because it looked interesting that and it only cost me $80 plus shipping. The main character I can identify with as he is the nice guy slacker type. Imagine Vash the Stampede when he is being the lecherous goofy lay-about and you have one aspect of Tylor. The Character designs and types are familiar, especially the marine named Jason with his chainsaw & hockey mask and the alcoholic doctor.
The animation looks dated by todays standards, but the show is from 1993 and we have had the clean stylised look of Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star to raise our expectations of anime. I will say this though, if you are planning to buy the box set or fourth volume wait a few weeks so that the new fourth discs will be in circulation, one of the episodes on this disc is missing a chapter - it is not on the disc at all.
