Storyline

Eminent Boston Psychiatrist, Frasier Crane, last seen gracing the bars of Cheers has left his life there to start afresh in Seattle. He now has a spot as a popular radio Psychiatrist, giving him the chance to spread words of wit and wisdom to the masses. He shares his apartment with his retired cop father, Martin, and his father's physical care assistant, Daphne Moon. Add in brother Niles, Eddie the dog, some bizarre situations and plenty of humour and you've got all the ingredients for an excellent show and worthy successor to Cheers. Trivia

Frasier was the last network-aired Paramount-produced show from the Paramount Communications era (1989-1994) to leave the air. The studio had been sold to Viacom in the middle of Frasier's first season. Series from the studio continued to use the Paramount Communications byline until February 1995 at which point the Viacom byline began use (though one special that aired in May 1995, The Laverne & Shirley Reunion (1995), used the Paramount Communications byline). Goofs

In the 2000 season premiere, Donny, a Seattle-based lawyer, launches a breach of contract lawsuit against Daphne Moon for backing out of their wedding. It is noted that the suit sought "$100,000 in punitive damages". Washington State does not allow for punitive damages in its courts. (Only cases heard in Federal Court are eligible for punitive damages in the State of Washington.) See more »

Niles: Oh, that is an Egyptian battle scene from AÔda. Look, that's Radames, and that's the jealous Amneris, and -
[laughs]
Niles: Oh, I misspelled Amonasro. Ah, to be six again...

Very funny show
6 October 1999 | by (Pennsylvania) – See all my reviews

This is one of the funniest shows on tv. Kelsey, David and the rest work so well together and are very funny. No wonder it's won the emmy for best comedy all those years in a row. I can't believe Ally McBeal beat it out this year. I don't think that show is half as funny as Frasier. What makes it even better is that the show has Peri Gilpin who is the daughter of the great Jim O'Brien who was a newscaster/weatherman for Philly news. I see where she gets her talent! Anyway Frasier is a great show that anyone would enjoy!
