Production on Bryan Singer's Bohemian Rhapsody got underway just days ago, but the film centering around the rock band Queen and the life of lead singer Freddie Mercury may be adding a certain comedian whose inclusion of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" in Wayne's World wound up introducing the song, and the band, to a whole new generation of fans. I'm speaking of... Read More »

It's more than 25 years since Terminator 2: Judgment Day first emerged, but actor Robert Patrick still carries the same cool, shark-like look of his shape-shifting villain, the T-1000. When Patrick fixes me with his sharp blue eyes, I can almost imagine his right arm quietly morphing into a sharp, chrome spear... and then he smiles, lets out a raucous laugh and the illusion is, thankfully, broken.
In London to promote the 3D re-release of T2, and it's testament to how well-made James Cameron's sci-fi sequel is that it holds up so well all these years later. For his part, Robert Patrick doesn't appear to have tired being »
Et spoke with the 58-year-old actor in Los Angeles on Thursday, after 70-year-old Simpson was granted parole by the Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners, following nine years in prison for his part in the robbery of two sports memorabilia dealers in Las Vegas in September 2007. Kaelin rose to fame as a witness for the prosecution in Simpson's 1995 murder trial, in which the former NFL pro was found not guilty of the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman.
"I've got to say, it's strange to hear his voice. It really is," Kaelin tells Et about watching the parole hearing. "It's that distinctive O.J. voice. It's sort of chilling. And it's a lot of rambling."

Security was light, so Star Wars fan Lawrence Thespian was able to snap some great pictures on the set of Han Solo: A Star Wars Story located in Fuerteventura. Shooting for the spin-off started February 20th, 2017 at Pinewood Studios in London, and is now currently shooting in the Canary Islands. Apparently cameras were banned in the natural park, which is a popular tourist destination, while filming was going on. Many fans speculated that Han Solo could be taking place in a tropical location like Rogue One when it was first revealed that filming would take place on Fuerteventura. But those theories have been debunked by a flurry of set leaks. These images are by far the most detailed and clear look at the goings-on to date.
The Intel comes from StarWarsNewsNet via Mr. Thespian, and he reports that the set is less than 5 miles from the popular holiday resort in Costa Calma. »
Chris Cornell, lead singer of Soundgarden, tragically committed suicide after playing a show in Detroit, Michigan at the Fox Theater according to The Independent. As a member of Soundgarden, he helped usher along an era of music that helped rid the music world of some of the pretensions and phoniness the music industry and built at that particular time. With his work in Soundgarden, Temple Of The Dog, and Audioslave, his legacy in the music industry will never be forgotten.
One aspect of his career that doesn't get much publicity is his work in film. With music in such films as Singles, Wayne's World, and Benny and June, his music helped fill the soundtrack of the movies of the 90's. One song he did, You Know My Name, helped usher in the modern era of James Bond as the lead in for Casino Royale.
The song itself is an underrated Bond movie classic theme. »

The first two Austin Powers films are pretty spectacular 007 parodies, setting the bar for a lot of comedies in the late '90s. Even with Wayne's World (just forget about Love Guru), these films have been the defining projects of Mike Myers' career, with many classic jokes living on in daily conversation two decades later.
The third film, Austin Powers in Goldmember, which I felt was the least successful and most repetitive, did leave the plot at an odd point, with Austin Powers and Dr. Evil joining forces as brothers, leaving Scott Evil (Seth Green) to carry on his father's legacy. There hasn't been an Austin Powers film in fifteen years, so is the franchise dead and buried? Or just frozen in cyrosleep until the hero is needed again?
The Hollywood Reporter did a piece of the legacy of Austin Powers, which included interviews with both Director Jay Roach »

The Gong Show has found its host.
Sony's reboot, which is being produced for ABC by Will Arnett’s Electric Avenue, has tapped an unconventional emcee befitting the nostalgic talent show. And while no party involved will confirm it, that host is believed to be Mike Myers. In a twist without much precedent, the comedian behind Wayne's World and Austin Powers seems to be going full method for the gig. His name is unlikely to be found on any literature, promotions or even credits tied to The Gong Show. No, the host is technically "Tommy Maitland," an elaborate character created for the sole »

Mike Myers may be ready to slip back into a familiar character.
The 53-year-old comedian reflected on the upcoming 20th anniversary of Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, and how his father's death inspired him to create the hilarious British spy character.
"After my dad died in 1991, I was taking stock of his influence on me as a person and his influence on me with comedy in general," Myers said in an interview with Hollywood Reporter, published on Thursday. "So Austin Powers was a tribute to my father, who [introduced me to] James Bond, Peter Sellers, The Beatles, The Goodies, Peter Cook and Dudley Moore."
Austin Powers debuted on May 2, 1997, the sequel, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, hit theaters in 1999, and was followed by 2002's Austin Powers: Gold Member, co-starring Beyonce. All three films were directed by Jay Roach.

"Bohemian Rhapsody" may be the Queen song everyone sings at the top of their lungs in the car (thanks, Wayne's World), but "Somebody to Love" is objectively one of the greatest songs of all time. But why are we talking about this now, 41 years after its release? Because, thanks to Reddit, an audio recording of Freddie Mercury's isolated vocals from the track has surfaced - and it's unbelievable. If you've ever even attempted to hum along to this tune, you'll be blown away. »
