UHF television aerials are visible on the rooftops over several houses. Television had not started transmitting on UHF in 1959.

Towards the end of the movie, when Frank and Tony are discussing the guilt or otherwise of Angeline, the derelict West Pier in Brighton can be seen in the background. The movie is set in 1959-1961, yet the West Pier at Brighton was fully functional until 1975.

Story is set in 60's but, in the scene with Liam and Laura and the paintings; there is an image of the sculpture "Hammering Man" on the mantle. The sculpture was created in 1990.

Errors in geography 

Several scenes are shot on an undercliff walk, using the white cliffs of Peacehaven as a backdrop. This walking area was not created until the 1970-'80s.
