The battleship Missouri is about to be decomissioned. Casey Ryback is Captain Adam's personal cook. And Ryback is always butting heads with the ship's XO Commander Krill but the Captain always intercedes. One day, after the President visits the Missouri, which is also the Captain's birthday, the Captain learns that a helicopter has been cleared to land on the ship by Commander Krill, which he was not informed of. When questioned Krill tells the Captain that it's a surprise for his birthday, the Captain then allows it. Later after another one of their scuffles, Krill has Ryback locked in the freezer. During the party, the rock band reveals themselves to be mercenaries, led by William Stranix, a CIA operative, who is in league with Krill to unload all of the ship's nuclear warheads. They lock up all of the crew and make preparations to remove the warheads. Mr. Pitt makes a comment about the SEAL strike team who "think they can fly in under our radar" which is actually an accurate statement; however, the SEAL team on-board the approaching helicopter is flying at about 300 feet ASL (above sea level), which is unconscionable given that the stealth approach to flying under a ship's radar is about 40 feet above sea level, but never above 100 feet or so above sea level in order to avoid radar detection. Thus, had the SEAL team flown at the proper very low altitude, there would have been an excellent chance that they could have been inserted very near the Missouri without being detected. See more »

Basically Under Siege is Die Hard on a boat. But the direction by Andrew Davis and the martial arts of Segal make this one stand out. Tommy Lee Jones makes a good villain as always. And extra points for Erika for getting naked.
