We're clueing for looks in the Sherlock season 4 teaser trailer. What did we find?
We got our very first look at Sherlock season 4 courtesy of Comic Con with the release of a teaser trailer for the upcoming season, and it is full of clues just waiting to be analysed.
All in all, the trailer was surprisingly ensemble-y, with two of the most intriguing moments going to Mrs. Hudson and Molly, rather than Sherlock and John. It also seemed to emphasize action much more than previous Sherlock trailers, though this could be a marketing choice more than something indicative of the season as a whole.
But enough with the larger picture analysis. Here are 15 things we noticed in the first trailer for Sherlock season 4...
Moriarty gets top billing
The teaser begins with Jim's handsome mug, which is to say that it begins where both the season 3 finale and »

From the opening images (rolls of barbed wire dotted with fluttering plastic bags) right through that closing shot of Naz’s cot engulfed in flames, I felt like I’d been completely immersed in the Rikers Island expeirence along with the wide-eyed college student indicted for a murder I’m pretty sure he didn’t commit.

Those pesky Mikaelsons invaded the San Diego Comic-Con and brought a whole bunch of details with them.
We finally got confirmation that the show will be jumping five years into the future. That will put it a bit ahead of The Vampire Diaries' timeline.
Kicking off the panel was a video of Hope asking Hayley if they are going to save Klaus.
“She was two years old when we left her … and she’s now a little person,” Michael Narducci said of Hope.
"She’s got dialog and hopes and dreams, and she misses her dad and understands her family has suffered a great loss. … Hayley’s a great mom.”

A motley (yet smolder-y) crew of witches, vampires and hybrids on Saturday descended upon San Diego Comic-Con to preview The Originals‘ upcoming fourth season.

Stars Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Phoebe Tonkin, Charles Michael Davis, Yusuf Gatewood and Riley Voelkel — along with executive producers Julie Plec and Michael Narducci — were all on hand to tease the madness to come when the show returns midseason on The CW. Here’s what we learned:
* A short video confirmed Season 4’s extended time jump, and ended with Hope asking — yes, asking, as in talking — Hayley if they »
Fear The Walking Dead is a very divisive series; there are those who love it and many who hate it, but the vast majority seem to agree that it simply isn’t anywhere near as good as The Walking Dead. The “companion” show made some really baffling decisions in the first half of season two, but a new trailer revealed at Comic-Con today points to some big improvements.
The survivors have now been scattered, with Madison, Alicia, Ofelia and Strand all heading back to the Abigail, Travis and Chris trying to make it on their own due to the latter’s homicidal tendencies, and Nick just chilling out with the undead while covered in blood.
Splitting them up could really help Fear The Walking Dead in the long run, and the show could do with some sort of shake up when it returns. That will be on August 21st, and »

Set to take the helm of Ridley Scott’s titular space vessel, McBride took to Instagram to post one final look into what we assume to be the cockpit of the Covenant, promising that, “Ridley is going to scare the shit out of you.” Given the awe-inspiring set photos coupled with the promise of a Xenomorph slithering onto the scene, we’re inclined to believe him.
Hoping to correct course after the largely underwhelming Prometheus – it was by no means Alien: Resurrection, but Scott’s prequel spinoff paled in comparison to the director’s original classic – Alien Covenant is the second chapter in the filmmaker’s planned prequel trilogy, one that has subsequently ordered Neill Blomkamp’s proposed Alien sequel to the shelf, for now. Should that plan take shape, »

Cruise and the Peaky Blinders actress were spotted filming last-minute scenes on the streets of London, running square in front of a giant fan. Is it possible that Sofia Boutella’s ancient deity will be whipping up a literal storm in the English capital? Time will tell.
What we do know, however, is a general overview of the story fuelling Alex Kurtzman’s long-awaited franchise overhaul, as the filmmaker looks to unlock Universal’s world of gods and monsters.
Thought safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her, is awakened in our current day, »

Batman-News has come across a very interesting rumour which started doing the rounds this weekend, and while it comes from a source which is very hit and miss (Bof), it's one which is sure to leave you with a lot to think about. Apparently, Ben Affleck's Batman movie - which he's been writing alongside Geoff Johns - will feature the Caped Crusader locked inside Arkham Asylum battling his greatest foes. However, as Affleck has previously made it clear that his movie will be an original story that borrows elements from past tales, don't expect this to be a direct adaptation of Batman: Arkham Asylum! While an entire movie set with this iconic location might be a little hard to pull off, it would be pretty interesting to see a big chunk of The Batman set there, especially as previous rumours have pointed to us seeing several of the hero's most iconic villains. »

“Made In China” Chapter One: An impulsive act of heroism thrusts an arrogant young man into the limelight of Shanghai as China begins to form its own Justice League of powerful heroes. Now here’s a curiosity. Much like Hollywood studios are now developing major tentpole franchises with one eye on the Chinese market as a massively lucrative area, DC Comics in their continued Rebirth have decided to get in on that particular piece of pie with New Super-Man, from writer Gene Luen Yang, which introduces a brand new Man of Steel (or more appropriately Boy of »

Love or hate the direction Marvel are taking their comics in, there's no denying that the idea of Victor Von Doom suiting up as the new Iron Man is at least somewhat intriguing. The fate of Tony Stark following the events of Civil War II remains a mystery, but with Riri Williams in one suit and Doom in another, chances are that he could go the same was as Captain America at the end of Civil War. Time will tell on that front, but below you'll find Alex Maleev's designs for the Infamous Iron Man. He'll be providing the artwork in the series for writer Brian Michael Bendis, and there's no denying that the villain looks pretty cool here. It's an interesting mashup of the classic Iron Man look and Doctor Doom's well known armour, and Victor will no doubt be packing some very cool new firepower as well. »

The Dark Tower movie, based on Stephen King's series of fantasy/horror novels, has been filming in South Africa and New York City for the past few weeks. The series, once thought to be impossible to adapt, will be ushered onto the big screen by director Nikolaj Arcel (A Royal Affair), stars Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey, and King himself. To say that this long-gestating adaptation is under a lot of fan scrutiny is an understatement.
Elba and McConaughey took some time off from shooting to talk to EW about their characters and what to expect from the film. As was already confirmed by King and Arcel before shooting even began, the movie will remix the events of the books and begin in media res.

We’ve seen plenty of photos from the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming already, but now some videos have found their way online, too. These actually show off Tom Holland in action as the wall-crawler in what looks set to be a very fun moment in the reboot, which takes Peter Parker back to high school for an adventure set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With no context, it’s hard to say where a scene like this could fit into the movie, but what we see here is Spider-Man swinging down, confronting a criminal on a bike, webbing him up into the sky and then riding away on said bike.

With Thor: Ragnarok set to take the God of Thunder and The Hulk on a trip through the cosmos, you'd think that Marvel would be pouring the movie's budget into huge CGI landscapes. While that still may very well be the case, director Taika Waititi is clearly keen on a practical Asgard which feels more real than previous instalments of the franchise, something evident from these amazing new set photos. Why has such a large chunk of Asgard been created with practical sets? Time will tell, but it's hard to imagine it being used for just a single scene in the movie. For all we know, this is where Hela marches her army into the realm, and if photos like this surface when shooting actually takes place, it seems we'll know that soon enough. For now, feel free to weigh in with your thoughts and theories below. Also starring Mark Ruffalo, »
There’s an old Hollywood adage that claims Matt Damon, star of The Departed, The Martian and, soon, Jason Bourne, hasn’t starred in a bad movie. But could the Boston actor ever dip his toe into the superhero genre?
Now that the industry is indulging in full-blown superhero pandemonium, with shared universes and spinoff movies crowding the release calendar long into 2019, it’s a point of discuss that is never too far from the conversation during press junkets. And sure enough, Damon was recently quizzed about the possibility of starring in a superhero feature by Irish Examiner (per Av Club).
To date, Jason Bourne is really the closest Matt Damon has come to assuming the role of a costumed hero, but the actor admitted he is open to the possibility on one condition: if Ben Affleck is behind the lens.

A new psychological thriller is currently in pre-production, with acclaimed filmmaker J.A Bayona (A Monster Calls) acting as producer. The film, titled Marrowbone, will be the feature length directorial debut of screenwriter Sergio G. Sanchez, who has previously collaborated with Bayona on The Orphanage and The Impossible. With Lionsgate International backing the project, momentum is continuing to build, as actress Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch) has now joined the cast.
With a tone similar to The Orphanage, Marrowbone will tell the tale of five siblings living in a vast, isolated manor. They have kept secret the death of their mother, in an attempt to stay together. However, it soon becomes clear that there is a sinister presence in their midst. Mia Goth (Everest), George Mackay (Sunshine On Leith), and Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things) already feature in the cast, and they are now joined by Taylor-Joy, who will shortly be seen »

Asgard has always had a practical element to it in the Thor movies, but it appears as if director Taika Waititi will be taking that to the next level in Thor: Ragnarok. As you can see below, he's had a massive chunk of the God of Thunder's home constructed on Australia's Gold Coast, and while special effects will obviously build on that, this most definitely feels like a step in the right direction for the franchise. Why has such a large chunk of Asgard been created with practical sets? Time will tell, but it's hard to imagine it being used for just a single scene in the movie. For all we know, this is where Hela marches her army into the realm, but if more photos like these surface, we'll get to find out whether or not that's the case soon enough. For now, feel free to weigh in with your thoughts and theories below. »
As you can see in the Tweets below, tickets for Suicide Squad go on sale in the Us next Friday. They'll be available in the UK on Tuesday. What this means is that in a couple of weeks, we'll have an idea of just how interested moviegoers are in the DC Comics adaptation from director David Ayer, though many box office analysts are actually already predicting that it will be the movie which saves the summer. Time will tell on that front, but you can definitely feel the excitement increasing as we get closer to the release of Suicide Squad. The movie will have a huge presence at Comic-Con and there's a lot of speculation that a final trailer could be with us next week. If so, what do you want to see in it? Squad alert! Hallelujah! Summer left town at the end of this week's Days of Our Lives.
Too bad some tired storylines aren't leaving with her. There was more than enough heartache and disappointment to go around, and not a single minute of happiness anywhere.
Summer and Tate are the latest Salem residents to disappear into thin air (in Summer's case apparently literally.) Elsewhere in Salem, Jj and Chad butted heads over not knowing where Abigail is.
Many viewers are offended by Jj's suspicion of Chad, but this is almost entirely Chad's fault. Chad is not thinking clearly and has chosen to make Jj and Jennifer the enemy who wants to take Abigail from him rather than accepting that they also love Abigail.
Instead of using his resources to hire a lawyer and squash the court order that would send Abby to a state facility, Chad chose to explicitly tell Jj that he »

Over the past month or two, photographer Clay Enos has been sharing a variety of behind the scenes images from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. The photographer is responsible for all of the official images we’ve seen from that movie thus far and has become a staple of the DC Films Universe (he also shot those brand new Suicide Squad stills).
The latest behind the scenes image from Dawn of Justice sees Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel about to throw a punch at the armoured Dark Knight, or as Enos puts it, “Batman, Superman, IMAX, rain. This is some big movie stuff!” It’s hard to argue with that. After all, regardless of any other faults Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice may have had, this fight was definitely a highlight and something that many fans enjoyed.

Prolific filmmaker Woody Allen has set the preliminary cast for his new, as-yet-untitled movie.
Much like Cafe Society before it, details relating to Allen’s next creative venture remain thin on the ground, though now that the principal stars are a lock, we expect the notoriously secretive director to reveal the movie’s setting and a potential plot in the coming weeks.
Whatever the case, today’s casting tidbit heralds the first collaboration between Timberlake and Woody Allen, and in recent years the former has broadened his creative spectrum beyond the music industry with convincing turns in both The Social Network and Inside Llewyn Davis. Could Allen’s latest continue that red-hot streak? Time will tell.
