A school girl, Mikaela, writes an erotic essay. She gives it to her teacher in Swedish, whom she feels attracted to. She begins to spy on what he is doing and discovers that he has a very peculiar sense of humor. A girl in her class is murdered and the evidence points at the teacher. Written by

Although the actual plot of this thriller is perhaps predictable, it did not disappoint me because the cinematography is quite lush and beautiful, and instead of being just a typical teen slasher film, it is executed with style, presenting a few genuinely creepy moments. I enjoyed it because there was enough character development to keep me interested in the fates of the doomed teenagers, and the darkly erotic undertones made one want to keep watching. I would have to say that the first half of the film, in which the characters and plot is being built up, is better than the last half hour, in which the film becomes increasingly gruesome and unbelievable. As a teenager, I enjoyed seeing a group of teen characters portrayed as complex, and intellectual, if a bit spoiled. Certainly miles above its Hollywood counterparts.
