Mickey Rooney wrote a letter of protest against the first Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984) stating that the "scum" who made it should be "run out of town" for having sullied the sacredness of Christmas. And yet he co-starred in this fifth installment in the gory horror series. See more »

The series started off with an evil Santa Claus, and ends with an evil Pinocchio.
Not wanting to spoil this for those of you who have yet to see this, I must say that this flick is a decent horror movie. And has some very funny dark humor in it. Not really for hard-core horror movie fans, because this was falls under the, 'It's so stupid, it's good" genre. But I liked it okay. Not as good as the first two, but better than the third and fourth. And does not follow any of the movies before it and has it's own story. It's much more original than the third and fourth. But also kind of unrealistic though. You have to go into this and view it as a dark Disney movie sort of. And it turns out that way kind of. lol. I hope they make a 6th one some day. I hear they maybe are. Not that this one was bad. It just was not a good one to end the series, IMHO. Anyway, check it out sometime if you want a different, funny, and dark Christmas movie.
