Queen for a day

Frankly, one could question what did Carmen Maura and Marisa Paredes, two of the most distinguished Spanish actresses, for choosing this absurd comedy in which to participate. One guesses their motive was the promise of work to keep busy, but alas, this film, conceived by Gonzalo Suarez, will not add anything to their careers.

Unfortunately, being abroad with a limited choice of things to watch, we decided to take a chance on this movie with the vague idea if Maura and Paredes were in it, how bad could it be? Pretty bad, indeed. The film does not make much sense. The direction lacked focus, in our humble opinion. And even the best intentions cannot hide the banality of it all.
