A documentary on Aki Kaurismaki making The Bohemian Life in Paris
The documentary Where is Musette? captured Aki Kaurismaki and his film crew working in Paris during the spring of 1991. Aki Kaurismaki here describes his experiences as an independent director working outside the giant studio productions. He claims that the line-up of the film crew may even play a decisive role in his films. His anarchist but yet disciplined working methods have attracted top professionals to his film crew, even though the shooting often continues until the early hours of the morning, and days off are few and far between. In the documentary we meet the film's cinematographer, sound engineer, set designer, assistant cameraman and others. Aki Kaurismaki's work has all the freshness and simplicity of expression of the first films in cinematic history. For more write: email@example.com
