Road Movie with a splendid Landa's performance
psagray from Spain
2 July 2013
"La Marrana" is a "Road movie" with situations and continuous
reflections on life picaresque. Despite talk of the picaresque, the
film does not resort to it, we must recognize the good intention of
doing things with rigor.
It is an endearing film line recreations of sixteenth-century Spain,
which has the sincerity of two men who roam together, you will need,
and between agreements and disagreements arise, but always with an
endearing tone, as two characters of "Sancho Panza" prisoners of the
Landa's interpretation goes from low to high: it starts in a very
overacted at boot dominated a theatrical style monologues and ends in a
balanced tone. The story is very entertaining with some very rich
dialogues with simple but very successful script.
"La Marrana" is a Spanish film contribution to the commemoration of 500
anniversary of the discovery of America, and it is a remarkable work of
our cinema. It is in line with the director's films José Luis Cuerda,
simple soul that places the nature of man in Spanish.
It has a photography of ocher and music violins predominantly not fit
with the images, only a few isolated pieces of guitar mix.
