20th Century Fox has unleashed seven new photos from their highly-anticipated video game adaptation Assassin's Creed, which is set to hit theaters December 21. These images give us a closer look at Michael Fassbender's Callum Lynch, including the character riding on horseback and producing his infamous sleeve daggers, an image which will surely be familiar to fans of the hit video game. We also get a glimpse at Marion Cotillard's Sophia Rikkin, who is seen watching over Callum as he is strapped to a device that will submerge him underwater.

The Playlist debuted these images, and they also hint that a new trailer could be just around the corner. The site speculates that the second trailer may be attached to prints of 20th Century Fox's Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children, in theaters September 30. The first trailer arrived in late June, which left many fans and critics underwhelmed, so »

Moulin Rouge Being Adapted as a Stage Musical and 7 More Movies That Should Get the Same Song-and-Dance Treatment

1 September 2016 12:36 PM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Broadway has a long tradition of taking movies and adapting them as stage musicals. The results have been mixed. Hits have included Hairspray, The Lion King, Billy Elliott and the more recent School of Rock and Waitress but then there are clunkers like Urban Cowboy, Leap of Faith and Finding Neverland. Earlier today, Playbill reported that a musical adaptation of Baz Luhrmann's 2001 Oscar-nominated film Moulin Rouge starring Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor is (finally!) being developed as a musical for the stage. No word on casting or when or where the musical will open, but we can't wait to see what they come up with. With that in mind, here are seven more movies we'd love you to see turned »

Stranger Things” hype shows no signs of slowing a month after the ’80s nostalgia-fest first debuted on Netflix. The show’s synth-heavy soundtrack continues to be among its most popular elements, so news of its official release should come as pleasant (if unsurprising) news to many. Volume One is already available digitally and coming to the now-rarefied CD format on September 16; Volume Two is now streaming on Soundcloud and can be bought on CD as of September 23.

A Real Leap of Faith in the Assassin’s Creed Movie

They actually recorded a real human doing a 125 feet free fall for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed movie and you can see it in this video. I hope you didn’t expect a bail of hay down there, that’s probably going in digitally (as will everything else but the stuntman). Actually now that I think about […]

Go Behind The Scenes Of Assassin’s Creed’s Leap Of Faith

17 August 2016 5:33 AM, PDT | www.themoviebit.com | See recent TheMovieBit news »

Ask any fan of Assassin’s Creed the first thing they when they boot up the game, and more often than not the answer is, “go to the top of the tallest building and jump off it”. The breath taking Leap of Faith has been a staple of the game series since the the beginning (the latest, Victorian London set iteration, Syndicate, lets you leap off Big Ben), and if you watch the trailer for the upcoming, Michael Fassbender starring adaption you would have seen it made the cut for the game’s jump to the big screen. But instead of the leap been done in CG, director Justin Kurzel wanted it to feel real as possible, which leads us to this amazing behind the scenes video where stuntman Damien Walters recreates the 125 feet dive in real life, pulling off one of the highest free falls preformed by a stuntman in over thirty years. »

Watch This: Stuntman 'Leap of Faith' Featurette for 'Assassin's Creed'

16 August 2016 10:54 AM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

Fox has released an impressive behind-the-scenes featurette for the upcoming Assassin's Creed movie, which opens in theaters in December. Dubbed the "Leap of Faith", the video focuses on stuntman Damien Walters' free fall jump - which was filmed on camera. Jumping from a height of 125 feet, it's one of the highest stuntman free falls in almost 35 years. Walters is the stunt double for Michael Fassbender in the film, playing Aguilar, a Master Assassin sent back in time to unlock the secrets of his ancestry. You've seen the leap they filmed in the trailer - jumping off of the top of one of the buildings in ancient Florence. And in this featurette you can see them setting up and actually pulling off the stunt, and it's kind of awesome. I like that they're sharing this now, before release, not just as a Special Feature on the DVD next year. Take a look. »

Assassin's Creed Breaks World Record with Leap of Faith Jump

15 August 2016 3:29 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Later this year, an iconic video game comes to life on the big screen when Assassin's Creed hits theaters on December 21. Michael Fassbender stars as Callum Lynch, who discovers he's part of a long line of assassins. Earlier today, a new featurette surfaced, which takes fans behind the scenes and reveals that this production set a new world record with their "Leap of Faith" stunt.

This new preview surfaced on YouTube today, which features director Justin Kurzel explaining that he wanted to ground this video game adaptation in reality as much as possible. We also meet producer Patrick Crowley, who reveals that, normally, with a stunt as big as the Leap of Faith, it would be a digital character taking the leap. However, since stuntman Damien Walters is said to be "the best," they're doing this stunt for real. We also hear from producer Frank Marshall and get plenty of »

‘Assassin’s Creed’ stuntman performs amazing 120 foot free-fall

15 August 2016 2:50 AM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Assassin’s Creed is the film that we hope will beat the curse of the dreaded games to movie adaptation and actually be quite good. The film arrives in cinemas this coming December, and if the following behind the scenes video is anything to go by, we’re in for a treat.

Rather than employing CGI to carry out some of the stunt work, the filmmakers have instead employed stuntmen to do the dirty work and this stunning free-fall featured in the film is an example of that.

Here’s Damien Walters, Michael Fassbender‘s double in the movie who performed a huge 120 feet free-fall, something that hasn’t ben done for 35 years.

This is quite amazing.

Assassin’s Creed is directed by Justin Kurzel and will open in cinemas later this year.

Interview: Actor Stephen Lang on Taking a Leap of Faith for Don’T Breathe

6 July 2016 4:01 PM, PDT | DailyDead | See recent DailyDead news »

Veteran actor Stephen Lang has played his fair share of strong and confident characters over the years, and his latest work in Fede Alvarez’s upcoming home invasion horror film, Don’t Breathe, is yet another formidable performance from the thespian with a long career both in film and on the stage.

As a blind war veteran who unleashes hell onto a trio of thieves (played by Jane Levy, Daniel Zovatto, and Dylan Minnette) who break into his home with hopes of scoring a huge payday, Lang’s work in Don’t Breathe is top-notch and truly unforgettable, and I’m excited for horror fans to get a chance to see him in action later this summer.

Daily Dead recently had the pleasure of speaking with Lang about his work in Don’t Breathe, including how he prepared for the role, what he loved about the film’s script and his character in particular, »

The First Assassin’s Creed Trailer Is Here!!!!

It’s here!!. It’s finally here. After months of waiting, we finally get our first trailer for Justin Kurzel’s adaption of the blockbuster game series Assassin’s Creed, and, song choice aside (seriously, Kayne!!!!), it’s a pretty excellent first look at things to come. From the cinematography to the frantic parkour sequences to Michael Fassbender being an absolute bad-ass, things are looking very good indeed for Assassin’s Creed shattering the history of video game to movie adaptions thus far (If Warcraft hasn’t done it by then, of course). Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to watch that eye popping Leap of Faith sequence from the end another fifty times. Released: December 21st Synopsis: Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain.
