When she is finally committed to an institution, the children are fostered by a childless couple who soon grow to love them as their own. Just as they are settling down to their new lives and enjoying the affection and warmth that they have never had, Callie re-appears in their life and decides she wants them back. The children's lives are in danger of being torn apart as they are caught up in a desperate tug of war between the mother they have learned to fear and the foster parents they have grown to love. Kickass NBC made for tv tearjerker
5 April 2002 | by (Chicago, Illinois) – See all my reviews

Me and my sister were both credited in this film (as one of the cain children). Making it was a total blast. Sarah Jessica is one of the sweetest and most friendly people I have ever been on a job with. Based on a true story(we even got to meet our characters counterparts) this is a heartwrenching movie about a mentally inept mother who uses her many boyfriends to help her get the welfare checks that take care of her 5 children. The guys abuse and beat the children. Soon they are taken away to live with foster parents by DCFS. The foster mother becomes so attached to the kids; she wants to adopt. It is a very touching story and throughout you will learn of the many hardships of very unknown territories ventured by this disfunctional family. Lexi Randall, one of the best role models I have ever had, gives a heartwarming and emotional performance. Everyone will enjoy. SJP good luck with the pregnancy!! :)
