'Michael Jordan' was originally supposed to play the role that Bo Kimble went on to take. In the fall of 1998, the filmmakers went to courts with a breach-of-contract lawsuit against Jordan seeking at least $16 million in damages, citing the lack of Jordan as the cause of the film's box-office flop and the derailment of director Randall Fried, who in the words of their attorney, "should have been and would have been the next Steven Spielberg" if the film had been successful. I liked this movie a lot the first few times I saw it. But after a while, I realized it wasn't a great movie. Performances are decent, nothing terrific. It was cool to see Hakeem Olajuwon...and what was weird is that in the 1990 TV movie "The Last Shot: Hank Gathers Story" they got some guy who looks nothing at all like Bo Kimble to play his role, when the real Bo Kimble himself wound up doing this movie, and doing a pretty good job. "Heaven is a Playground" has a great ending.
