Nobody plays the charming bad boy better than Eric Roberts. "Fugitive Among Us'" takes full advantage of that acting style, feeding the audience assumptions that are easily swallowed. Peter Strauss is the detective obsessed with nailing serial rapist suspect, Roberts. Along the way he gets involved with one of the victims, Elizabeth Pena. There is very little action, but strong acting, especially by Roberts and Pena, carries the film. At times things bog down, and some of the police work is shoddy and unorthodox. If you are a fan of Eric Roberts, you will be on familiar ground here, but not everything is as simple as it might appear. Marginally recommended. - MERK
