Hollywood Conservatives in the Shadows Stumping for Trump

7 June 2016 2:17 PM, PDT | The Hollywood Reporter | See recent The Hollywood Reporter news »

Despite the entertainment industry’s reputation for liberalism, not everyone in Hollywood sporting one of those “I Voted” stickers (written in half a dozen languages) cast their lot with Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders during Tuesday’s California primary. Many more than will admit — probably the ones on film and TV sets who remain silent as others gleefully bash Republicans — voted for Donald Trump. “It’s D-Day in California, and I voted for Trump,” says Dave Berg, who, as a co-producer on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno for several years, booked Trump as a guest more than

14 March 2016 2:11 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Three eras of NBC’s “The Tonight Show” will be celebrated in June at the Great American Comedy Festival in Johnny Carson’s hometown of Norfolk, Neb.

A panel will be held at the Johnny Carson Theatre on June 18 featuring producers from three different stages of the late-night show’s seven decades. Josh Lieb, the current producer and showrunner for “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”; Dave Berg, a co-producer of “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno”; and Jeff Sotzing, president of Carson Entertainment and a producer of “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson,” will all discuss their time with the show.

“ ‘The Tonight Show’ has been and continues to be such a huge part of the entertainment landscape,” said Kent Warneke, founder and past chairman of the Great American Comedy Festival. “To bring producers from three different eras of the show together on one stage promises to be a memorable event. »

Taylor Swift and Kanye West's Rocky History: A Timeline

12 February 2016 10:40 AM, PST | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

Staying true to his typical outlandish behavior, Kanye West launched his long-awaited album, The Life of Pablo - formerly known as Swish and most recently Waves - in N.Y.C. on Thursday by hosting a listening party/fashion show showcasing his Yeezy Season 3 collection. And while the event delivered its anticipated shock value - not including the fact that the rapper designed the Kardashian clan's wardrobe himself - nothing quite trumped his dig at Taylor Swift on his song "Famous." "For all my Southside n----s who will know me best / I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why, »

Best Actress Besties Brie Larson and Saoirse Ronan Honored in Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara, Calif. — The Santa Barbara International Film Festival displayed the proper foresight in late November last year when selecting “Room” star Brie Larson and “Brooklyn’s” Saoirse Ronan as first-time tandem recipients of the Outstanding Performer of the Year Award: Both have remained out in front of the best actress Oscar race in a year marked by a number of female-centric narratives, and they continue to lock horns heading into the Feb. 28 Academy Awards ceremony.

Of course, nothing approaching competitive awareness was on display Monday night as the two ingenues — who have been previously recognized by Sbiff in the Virtuosos sidebar — enjoyed their dual tributes. In fact, they’ve become quite close on the circuit.

Alas, circumstances kept them apart this time — the production of “Kong: Skull Island,” to be specific. The blockbuster sequel has filled Larson’s schedule all season as she has bounced from locations in Vietnam, »

Awards Flashback! See 19-year-old Leonardo DiCaprio Contend for a Golden Globe

7 January 2016 6:00 PM, PST | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

In 1993, Leonardo DiCaprio was a handsome teenager with only two feature films under his belt - and he was already gunning for Oscar and Golden Globe success. Twenty-three years later, DiCaprio is heaping praise for his turn as 1800s frontiersman Hugh Glass in The Revenant and is up for his eleventh Golden Globe nomination at Sunday's award ceremony. But it was the 1993 drama What's Eating Gilbert Grape, wherein DiCaprio portrayed a mentally challenged Iowan, that gave the now-41-year-old his first taste of stardom and life on the awards circuit. New Pee-wee Herman Movie to Premiere at SXSW

7 January 2016 1:20 PM, PST | Rollingstone.com | See recent Rolling Stone news »

In 1999, comedian Paul Reubens went on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and announced that he was working on a new movie for his manic signature character, Pee-wee Herman. Now, just 17 short years later, a new film featuring his signature character — Pee-wee Herman's Big Holiday — will have its world premiere at SXSW Film Festival this March.

Originally created as a sketch-comedy character by Reubens in the late Seventies, Pee-wee Herman became a bona fide cult sensation thanks to Tim Burton's 1985 film, Pee-wee's Big Adventure. Reubens then took his alter ego to the small screen, »
