Kim Kardashian Exposes Underwear, Bra in See-Through Lace Dress: Picture

I see London, I see France...! Kim Kardashian left little to the imagination on Tuesday, March 25, when she stepped out in New York City in a see-through lace dress that exposed her black underwear and matching bra underneath. The look was similar to the one the 33-year-old reality star modeled on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno back in October 2013. At the time, she was newly engaged and eager to show off both her ring and her 50-pound weight loss following the June birth of [...] »

Both Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Tonight Shows’ Submitted for Emmy Noms

12 March 2014 3:30 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Since Jay Leno’s passing of the “Tonight Show” torch to new host Jimmy Fallon came during the middle of the season, both version of the NBC show are eligible for an Emmy Award. The same also applies to “Late Night,” which Seth Meyers took over from Fallon.

Hedging its bets, Variety sister site Deadline reports that NBC is submitting both “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” for consideration — as well “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” “Last Call With Carson Daly” and “Saturday Night Live.”

The Peacock faced a similar situation during the 2009-2010 season when both “The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien” and Leno’s incarnation were submitted. O’Brien ended up nabbing the nom.

Leno’s “Tonight Show” has received 10 noms for best music, comedy or variety series but only scored the Emmy once, in 1995. The show has not been »

Emmys: ‘Tonight Show’ With Hosts Jay Leno & Jimmy Fallon Both Submitted For Consideration

12 March 2014 2:11 PM, PDT | Deadline TV | See recent Deadline TV news »

With NBC’s The Tonight Show making a transition from host Jay Leno to Jimmy Fallon midway through the season, both versions are eligible for Primetime Emmys. The same goes for Late Night and its incarnations hosted by Fallon and Seth Meyers. I’ve learned that both The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon are being submitted by NBC along with Late Night With Seth Meyers, Last Call With Carson Daly and the network’s venerable late-night sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live. NBC was in a similar situation during the 2009-2010 season when both The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien, which aired through January, and Tonight Show With Jay Leno, which succeeded it, were submitted (O’Brien landed a nomination). Given the fact that Fallon just moved into Tonight Show and is looking to establish himself as host, it makes sense for »

Oscars on ABC Draw Largest Audience in 10 Years

3 March 2014 6:37 AM, PST | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Awards shows like the Oscars continue to thrive in the social media era, with Sunday’s telecast hitting a 10-year high in overall viewership.

The 86th Academy Awards, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, averaged a 12.9 rating in adults 18-49 and 43 million viewers overall, according to time zone-adjusted preliminary Nielsen estimates. In recent years, only NFL playoff games have fared better in the ratings.

Oscars: Complete List of Winners

And among all entertainment programs, Sunday’s Oscars drew the largest audience on any network since the finale of “Friends” in May 2004.

Sunday’s kudocast was virtually flat vs. last year’s Seth MacFarlane-hosted show in the 18-49 demo (13.0) and up 6% in total viewers (from 40.4); last year had hit a three-year high in total viewers. It was also up nearly 3 million viewers from DeGeneres’ previous stint as host, in 2007 (40.2 million).

Since the 2008 kudocast hosted by Jon Stewart, which drew a record low 32.01 million viewers, »

Jimmy Fallon Has Second Best Night, ‘American Idol’ Hits Low

21 February 2014 9:44 AM, PST | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Update: In “fast official” Nielsen estimates, NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” averaged a 2.6 rating in adults 18-49 and 7.69 million viewers overall — the show’s best scores in both categories since its Monday premiere. Thursday’s rating is up 8% vs. the 2.4 for Wednesday and 13% higher than the 2.3 for Tuesday.

Excluding the recent finale of “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno,” the 7.69 million is the largest audience for a Thursday episode of “Tonight” in nearly five years (since an appearance by President Obama in March 2009).

As the Winter Olympics wind down, NBC rolled to another easy primetime victory Thursday while Fox’s “American Idol” hit another low — and placed third among young adults for one of its half-hours. In latenight, NBC’s “Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon” held even with the prior two nights and continues to dominate.

Univision also had a big night, with its annual “Premio Lo »

Who would’ve thought Kim Kardashian would be the link connecting The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon? After being part of the celebrity Shut Your von Trapp! music ditty that sent off Leno on his final Tonight Show, the reality star was among a parade of celebrities who welcomed Fallon tonight during his first hosting gig on NBC‘s late-night staple. “Surprise” guests including Robert De Niro — Fallon’s first guest on Late Night in 2009 –  Fallon’s former Weekend Update co-host Tina Fey, former Tonight Show regular Joan Rivers, Seth Rogen, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Rudy Giuliani, Lindsay Lohan and Fallon’s new late-night rival Stephen Colbert stopped by to pay up after “betting” that Fallon wouldn’t make it to The Tonight Show. Jay Leno Bows Out With Biggest ‘Tonight Show’ Week In Decades; Ditto Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Late Night’ Swan Song

13 February 2014 11:13 AM, PST | Deadline TV | See recent Deadline TV news »

Jay Leno‘s Tonight Show swan song churned up the franchise’s biggest weekly crowd since the week of NBC’s Cheers finale in ’93. Meanwhile, his replacement, Jimmy Fallon wrapped his Late Night hosting gig with that show’s biggest weekly haul since it followed Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show farewell, in May of  ’92. Leno’s actual Thursday night finale last week clocked the biggest crowd for an individual Tonight show broadcast since Jerry Seinfeld turned up after his primetime hit’s so-long episode, on May 14, 1998. The Tonight Show With Jay Leno averaged a 1.9 rating and 8.289 million viewers in its final week. That’s the top Tonight total-viewer average since the show snagged 9.08 million viewers the week of NBC’s Cheers finale –  the week of May 17, 1993.  In the demo, it was Tonight Show‘s best week since Conan O’Brien‘s dramatic final week hosting original episodes of the late-night franchise. »

Jimmy Fallon's final 'Late Night' scores big ratings: 'I'm not gonna cry'

8 February 2014 8:29 AM, PST | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

Another late-night record this week for NBC: Jimmy Fallon’s final show as host of Late Night scored a series-high rating.

Following NBC’s coverage of the Sochi Olympics Opening Ceremony (those numbers here), Fallon’s show had a 4.8 rating in the metered-market households, the best performance ever of the show using this data-set. The prior record was set on Thursday following the final telecast of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Given more than 30 million viewers tuned in for the Opening Ceremony, however, anything except a record for Fallon might have been seen as a disappointment.

Sochi’s Opening Ceremony, Fallon’s ‘Late Night’ Exit Score Big for NBC

Friday was another big night for NBC, with the official Opening Ceremonies of the Sochi Games holding up very well and Jimmy Fallon exiting his “Late Night” post with series-high numbers.

According to Nielsen overnights, the Sochi Opening Ceremony averaged an 18.5 household rating/30 share, off only 8% from the live telecast of the 2010 Vancouver Opening Ceremony (20.0/33). And it was up a big 26% from the last non-live Opening Ceremony of the Winter Games (a 14.7/23 for Torino in 2006).

Jay Leno's 'Tonight Show' farewell draws biggest audience since 1998

Audiences were eager to say good-bye to Jay Leno on Thursday (February 6) night, as "The Tonight Show" drew its biggest overall audience since 1998.   Boosted by a strong "bonus" night of coverage from the Sochi Winter Olympics, "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" drew 14.6 million viewers, the most since May 14, 1998. That was, of course, the night of the series finale of "Seinfeld" and featured Jerry Seinfeld as a guest. Jay Leno’s Latest Tonight Show Farewell Drew a Big (But Older) Audience

7 February 2014 10:35 AM, PST | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

Jay Leno's latest good-bye was seen in more homes than his previous good-bye — but the folks who watched were older. Per preliminary Nielsen data from the nation's top 56 television markets, Thursday's swan song sequel for The Tonight Show With Jay Leno was seen in about 9.2 percent of the nation's homes. That's up from the 8.8 rating Leno's May 2009 departure averaged, but still well below the 11.3 rating Tonight earned a few months earlier in '09, when President Obama stopped by the show for the first time. Leno also easily drew a bigger total audience than Conan O'Brien's final, controversy-tinged Tonight, which went out with a 6.9 household ratings. Those Leno gains were all among older viewers, though: Conan — and Leno 2009 — did much better in the demo ratings. Among NBC's target audience of adults under 50, last night's last Leno Tonight earned a 3.4 rating. That's far »

Everything You Need to See From Jay Leno's Last Tonight Show

7 February 2014 8:16 AM, PST | BuzzSugar | See recent BuzzSugar news »

The Tonight Show With Jay Leno is no more, folks. Leno bid adieu to the show last night (for real this time), and a slew of celebrities made unexpected appearances. Everything started out on a happy note, with Leno poking fun at himself in his opening monologue. However, things got emotional when guest Billy Crystal brought on a bunch of random celebrities to sing goodbye to the host. Jack Black, Oprah (yes, Oprah was there), and Kim Kardashian all sang to Leno, to the tune of The Sound of Music's "So Long, Farewell." By the end of the show, Leno was legitimately crying before Garth Brooks came on to usher him out with "Friends in Low Places." Take a look at all the highlights from Leno's final show. ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ Finale Review: An Un-Fitting Farewell

Despite leaving The Tonight Show while still standing atop the ratings, ably following 30 years of Johnny Carson – the man who revolutionized both the show and the form – with his own successful 22 year run, there were no rose petals thrown at Jay Leno’s feet in the waning days of his empire. Sure, NBC paid the requisite respect and Leno and his team did their best to celebrate their longevity and some of their best moments, but it all felt a bit downbeat, and not just because we’ve been through this with Leno before.

Back in 2009, Leno left the Tonight Show with a destination in mind. The prime time Jay Leno Show would ...
