The ever-stunning Christie Brinkley was hired to host this lifestyle show for CNN in 1992; the large role she played in the promos turned out to be deceptive.
The programme itself was basically Christie smiling in a studio and doing links between (not very interesting) filmed pieces - in other words, she was hired for her name and to do wraparounds. Sort of a glorified Children's BBC linksperson, but older and without the shrinking of the end credits and endless shouting in between shows. The pieces themselves weren't even done specifically for the programme, but were from other CNN magazine shows.
The Uptown Girl bailed not long after the show began, dissatisfied with her role on the show; CNN dropped the last three words of the show's title, and ultimately dropped the show itself after a year.
