20th Century Fox is developing a reboot of the 1988 sci-fi movie Alien Nation, with Iron Man writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway coming aboard to write the screenplay. The project doesn't have a producer on board at this stage. The studio is envisioning a re-imagining of the original movie, with the hopes of starting a franchise similar to their rebooted Planet of the Apes movies.
The original Alien Nation was set in a future where humans and an alien race were forced to co-exist with each other, as the humans keep the alien species segregated from the general population with very little rights. The plot followed the first ever alien police officer (Mandy Patinkin) on Earth, who is paired up with a racially-biased cop (James Caan). Although they have their differences, a case comes up that causes them to form a mutual respect for one another. The original movie spawned »
Outlander has been given a UK premiere date on Amazon Prime Instant Video.
The first eight episodes of the drama series will launch on Thursday, March 26.
The remaining eight episodes of the first season will then be available weekly on the streaming service from Sunday, April 5 - with each instalment coming every Sunday, hours before the Us broadcast.
Amazon has also secured the rights to further seasons. The show was renewed for season two by Starz last August, with production to begin in the summer.
It follows married World War II nurse Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe), as she struggles to adapt to being sent back in time. Ending up in Scotland in 1743, she soon finds herself strangely attracted to Highlander Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan).
The weather could not have been nicer for Wizard World’s first ever Cleveland comic convention. (I say this, because in Northeast Ohio half a foot of snow is usually the best welcome we can offer to newcomers.) After a good trudge through the slush-covered streets, I managed to step out of the chill air and into the press of con-goers. Despite the icy conditions, Cleveland’s convention center was packed with attendees.
Soon enough, the crowd would be divided, forming lines for booths and celebs (like fellow Kent State alum Dolph Ziggler). As with any Wizard convention, the same complaints come to mind. There were very few comic related guests in attendance. The focus was given mostly to the old standbys from the Wizard group. Jason David Frank, William Shatner, and others were all in attendance. There were a few booths set up for independent comic companies, like Action Lab, »

The dream of Six Seasons and a Movie is one step closer to fruition, thanks to Yahoo rescuing "Community" from cancellation, for a sixth season to debut sometime this year. Beyond knowing which castmembers won't be a part of the new season — Yvette Nicole Brown left for personal reasons, Jonathan Banks is now on "Better Call Saul," and of course Donald Glover and Chevy Chase have been gone a while, leaving only Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Ken Jeong and Oscar Winner Jim Rash — we don't have a whole lot of detail about the new season, including when it might debut on Yahoo Screen, whether Yahoo will try a Netflix all-at-once approach or release the episodes weekly, etc. Fortunately, we have a "Community" panel this morning at press tour, featuring Dan Harmon, producer Chris McKenna, and stars McHale, Jacobs and Jeong, which will hopefully provide some answers. »

Brian Clemens, one of the defining writers of British television in the 20th century, has passed away aged 83. Best known for his work on The Avengers and numerous other cult series of the telefantasy genre, he also scripted shows across the pond such as Diagnosis: Murder and created my own personal favourite The Professionals. Still shown on ITV4 to this day, it concerned the adventures of a pair of laddish hard men operating for fictional government department CI5, and put stars Martin Shaw and the late Lewis Collins on the map.
Born in Croydon, Clemens had his first short story published before hitting his teens and went on to write for television and film full time after a stint in advertising. He performed scribbling duties on a wide variety of programmes including Danger Man and Richard The Lionheart, but it was delivering the pilot episode of The Avengers that made his name. »
