Filmmaker Thunder Levin dropped a line alerting me that The Asylum has unveiled the trailer for his Costa Rican-lensed science fiction action thriller Ae: Apocalypse Earth starring TV “Highlander” Adrian Paul and former teen heartthrob Richard Grieco.
Levin was quite enthusiastic about his newest science fiction opus from The Asylum when I last spoke to him a few weeks back:
"[Ae: Apocalypse Earth] is the story of a group of refugees from Earth who have to survive on a hostile alien planet. Adrian Paul plays Lt. Frank Baum, Richard Grieco is Capt. Sam Crowe, Gray Hawks is an android named Tim, and Costa Rican supermodel Bali Rodriguez plays the mysterious humanoid Lea. I’d describe Ae as 'Predator meets Avatar meets Planet of the Apes meets The Wizard Of Oz.' Apocalypse Earth doesn’t tell nearly the whole story, and by the end of the film, viewers will probably realize that Ae »

It looks like our summer is shaping up very nicely, thanks to some excellent scheduling by The Powers That Be. At least our weekends will be taken care of. True Blood will almost certainly return in its usual Sunday at 9/8c slot, so there’s Sunday sorted. We told you earlier today that Zero Hour will be airing Saturdays at 8/7c, which fits in perfectly with this latest scheduling announcement: Primeval: New World will be airing Saturdays at 9/8c, followed by Sinbad at 10/9c on Syfy.
You may recall that we told you about the Syfy pickup of Primeval: New World back in October. You’ll recognize it as a spinoff from the original Primeval which aired here originally on BBC America. You’ll also recognize the star, Niall Matter, as Zane from the late great Eureka. Primeval: New World is another series acquired by Syfy from our pals up in Canada, »

Starting this week, fans of the radio anthology series Suspense will be able to hear new versions of their favorite classics broadcast on Sirius Xm BookRadio 80 two nights a week.
The updated Suspense airs Wednesdays (7:30pm Et/4:30pm Pt) and Sundays (11:30pm Et/8:30pm Pt), and Episode #1 is an adaptation of Lovecraft's 'Cool Air,' starring Adrienne Wilkinson and Daamen Krall.
The original Suspense, which ran from 1942-1962, was known as “radio’s outstanding theater of thrills” and featured a virtual 'who’s who' of Hollywood stars, including horror legends Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, Vincent Price, and Peter Lorre. Though many of its episodes were murder mysteries, the original Suspense made many forays into pure horror, such as its adaptations of H.P. Lovecraft’s The Dunwich Horror and Curt Siodmak’s Donovan’s Brain.
As for the new Suspense, it goes in a somewhat different direction. »
