Not as good as the original, but nostalgic, 4 September 2005
Author: TheFiendsThatPlagueThee from United States

After the untimely death of Young Mr. Grace, the staff of the department store take over the management of a country hotel in which all their retirement benefits are invested. With most of the staff of the ladies' and gents' departments reunited and a few new characters introduced, all sorts of adventures ensue.

For those who are fans of Grace Brothers, this nostalgic return to the series is refreshing. After a long hiatus, Captain Peacock and his staff return to run a hotel in the same manner that they ran the store.

While perhaps not as funny as the original series, it is nevertheless a very funny series. The script is as well written as the original. The decision to change the setting for a new series from the store to a country hotel was a wise one, and opens the show to whole new possibilities.

This short series was a good end to the Are You Being Served? Collection. Definitely a nostalgic trip for fans of the show.
