Sex & Nudity

  • Some more intense kissing scenes, but never any nudity. Some scenes that imply the characters will engage in sexual activity straight afterwards, but that itself is not shown.

Violence & Gore

  • Several surgeries are performed, but the work itself is always 'off-camera'. Sometimes some blood stains can be seen on Michaela's dress and hands. Patients are always put under an anesthetic in such procedures, except for in season 6, when Michaela needs to burn out a wound in someone's leg. Some screaming and struggling is involved there.
  • In several occasions, broken legs, ankles and shoulders need to be set in place. Rarely can the bone be seen penetrating the skin. The victims usually give a firm scream.

Profanity

  • Because of the continuous occurrence of the native American Cheyenne tribe, some characters will refer to them with unkind words and nicknames. The same happens upon the introduction of Chinese, Hispanic and other ethnic 'minorities'.
