Sex & Nudity

  • Contains only very mild stylised nudity throughout the course of the series.
  • 2/5
  • Transformation sequences depict the Sailor Guardians nude, however, their bodies are bathed in white. The shape of their breasts and buttocks are occasionally visible. Throughout the second season, several villains undergo a brief purification process in which their naked bodies spin around before returning to their ordinary states. Nipples are depicted in some of these sequences, however, any such nudity is very brief and presented in a fantastical, non-eroticised fashion.
  • Panty Shots now and there, Some of the cardians are quite revealing.
  • Also contains infrequent "fan-service" (gratuitous shots common in anime) in the form of panty shots and the like. Such shots are usually incidental and are not prolonged.
  • One episode is shown Usagi naked holding luna but this is not sexual.
  • Also contains infrequent very mild naturalistic nudity.
  • Chibiusa has some panty shots which is kinda creepy considering she's only a young girl.
  • Esmurade is scene once in the bath, not that sexual, though.

Violence & Gore

  • Contains mild animated fantasy violence and threat throughout the course of the series.
  • 6/10
  • Unrealistic beasts and supernatural entities are fought with fantastical projectiles and weapons. Also contains moments of hand-to-hand combat. Monsters generally disintegrate into sparkling particles when killed.
  • Fantasy violence is consistent throughout the season.
  • One of the more violent scenes in the series occurs when a character is impaled by spears formed from a tree. Green blood gushes from their body and they die as their body disintegrates in an unrealistic fashion. A main character is bereaved by their death.

  • Contains only infrequent very mild coarse language throughout the series.
  • Most episodes do not contain any coarse language whatsoever, however, a few episodes contain passing uses of terms such as "bastard" and "pissed".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Contains only infrequent depictions of tobacco or alcohol consumption. Such instances are not emphasised and are portrayed only to depict realistic adult behaviour. The work as a whole does not endorse or promote substance abuse.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Almost every episode contains a sense of threat or menace that may frighten very young viewers. Season finales usually contain more intense depictions of violence, and the main characters are usually threatened or otherwise plunged into perilous situations wherein their lives are in danger. The series is suitable for children, however, discretion should be exercised for children who may find such content disturbing.
  • 6/10
  • Mild supernatural and fantasy themes
  • There is an underlining theme of the supernatural and can be menacing towards younger children, especially with death busters the new evil Organisation.
