The "Five Lucky Stars" (Sammo Hung, Richard Ng, Stanley Fung, Charlie Chin and Eric Tsang) take on the horror scene, where they run into the ghost of a troublemaker (Pak-cheung Chan), who was murdered by an evil drug gang. At the same time, four policewomen are assigned to the homicide case and the "Five Lucky Stars" asks the ghost to help them court the ladies.
The pacing of the series take another dive again, as the comedy and humor were pretty mediocre. The subplot of wooing woman is rehashed once again and really got old by this time - nothing funny or original. The main plot wasn't very solid, just a lot of goofy gags of women-wooing and silly ghost action.
The film gains traction again towards the latter half, where we get a good helping of martial arts action. The stunts were well choreographed.
I would have preferred that this ghost be a more suspenseful and creepy like a conventional horror movie, but with some tastefully done humor. But, it was just more of a movie containing an adult Casper-like ghost theme with corny jokes, and action toward the very end.
