Did You Know?

The Devil (played by Bruce Payne) makes a total of six appearances in this movie. Aside from his two speaking roles (when Steve is sent back to earth, and when he visits Amanda at 3:00 in the morning), he also makes four sneak appearances: Once as a patron at the City Grille's bar when Amanda meets Walter for lunch, once as a piano player at Sheila's party, once as a piano player (in drag) at the lesbian club, and finally as a televangelist on TV when Margo hides the murder weapon in Amanda's couch. Steve Brooks: What happens now?
God: Well, on one hand, you've earned enough credits to get you into Heaven.
Steve Brooks: Oh, thank God.
GodGod: You're welcome.
God: On the other hand, you've been consistently rotten to women, you deserve to go straight to Hell.
Steve Brooks: That's pretty rotten.

Lots of laughs
8 May 2007 | by (Colorado) – See all my reviews

Woke up to this flick on Cinemax this morning. I didn't know what to expect, and I found myself laughing at the daffy, zany, madcap adventures of a guy in a woman's body.

Ellen Barkin gives a hilarious performance. The awkwardness off her transformation was humorous and realistic. She played off of her fellow actors with precision and flow. Playing the "tough" chick kept me in stitches.

The scene I laughed at the most was the bar fight, which got really over-the-top and out of hand. My laughter reached it's climax when Barkin jumped on the guy's back in the center of the bartender's station.

I usually grade a movie on entertainment value and this one gets a 10 out of 10 for the simple fact that it made me laugh out loud more than any other. (Okay, tied with Billy Madison). I rarely laugh at comedies more than twice a movie, so I'm recommending this movie to anyone who wants something to really laugh at.
