Several men from Wales travel to the Philippines on an arranged tour to meet Filipina women for romance and possible marriage. None of the women are the ideal Asiatic beauties the men imagined, but by the end of the tour, most of the Welshmen return with a new bride. Written by Anonymous

One to watch if your considering something like this.

I am married to a Filipina and although it wasn't like this, we both enjoy watching this movie from time to time. Sure, it's a little corny but not so far off base. It deals with the heart. Sometimes people get tired of beating around the bush. I, like these gentlemen, are not losers just because we didn't marry in our own land, or our own race. It's not a matter of the local woman not finding us attractive although that may be part of it. Maybe we just didn't want to settle for what's available in our neck of the woods. I can't help but see similarities with some of these guys and myself. So forgive me for that. The INS calls this "mail order" so by their definition, I guess it is. But if anybody thinks that it's anything less than real love, I'm here to tell you, your wrong. One thing about mail order (and it's not really mail order BTW), both parties hearts are open and receptive to love. You see that in this movie. But you don't order a helpless young girl out of a catalog. If she don't like you then your still out. They are looking in catalogs themselves. Sure sometimes things don't work out, that's life. You see that in this movie. You can't put people or races in molds. All folks here in the movie as well as real life are still individuals. One commentor talked about "losers". Well sure. He was right! Before I found my Filipina Dreamgirl, I was a loser. Now I'm a winner!!! Just like anyone else happily married (foreign or domestic). See? This silly movie, (and I admit, it's a little silly), strikes a personal chord in some of us. Simple as it is, it's not just a movie. My criteria for a movie is simple. If I'm entertained, it passes. If I'm not entertained, no amount of money and special effects works. I liked the movie. It's different than your standard plot. Some won't like it. If you don't like it for racial reasons, might I suggest an older one called "Sayonara".
