a well-done but overlooked and underrated take on the Robin Hood myth.
This film came out around the same time as the lame Kevin Costner version and unfortunately got swept under the carpet. it's really a shame since this is possibly the most accurate and well-made version of the Robin Hood story to date.
All the cast is great, and you can't beat Uma Thurman's performance as Maid Marian. When people talk about her body of work this role is never mentioned and it's a shame since it's one of her best.
The locales are well done in their authenticity and you actually feel like you're back in that era.
the only gripe i have is that the film was originally a mini-series in europe and was condensed down to a regular length and the U.S. has some pacing and continuity problems.
but overall, this is well worth tracking down and required viewing Uma Thurman addicts like myself.
