Storyline

As soon as they meet Ari and Sam get into a pretty passionate - and combustible - relationship. Indeed, the scenes of their rendezvous often seem reminiscent of the Chicago Fire. But the course of true flaming lust never runs true, and as they try to handle their all-consuming passion their two best friends endlessly meet to compare notes on developments. Quotes

Ari: When I was in like, 5th grade, the miniseries "Roots" was this big thing. So, our teacher had us make family trees. I consulted my mom, and my grandmother, but we couldn't trace it back any further than New York, which was embarrassing. So, I lied and said that we were descended from Russian Tsars. Which is possible if any of them married poorly. Now Liam on the other hand, if there's a good Monty Python rerun on, or if he's had enough Guinness, will confess to a lineage of pirates. Dashing, ...

Never catches fire
6 August 2013 | by (Lincolnshire, UK) – See all my reviews

If you're going to make a talky film it helps if what the characters talk about is actually interesting, a concept lost on the makers of this bore.

For some reason the underlying premise is that Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick accidentally start fires every time they have sex, but this idea soon lies forgotten beneath a mess of captions, music, monologues to camera and dialogue that tries so hard to be cool it makes you want to kick your TV over.

Bacon is worth watching (as usual) but writer/director Noah Stern's misplaced belief that his movie is hip and meaningful is just irritating.
