Storyline

Due to NCAA sanctions, the Texas State University Fightin' Armadillos must form a football team from their actual student body, with no scholarships to help, to play their football schedule. With fewer players than most teams, the makeshift team must overcome obstacles that the best teams in the country couldn't deal with. Using a 34 year old quarterback, a female placekicker and a gang of misfits, Ed "Straight Arrow" Genero must take his team to play the number one Texas Colts. Written by Kevin <Kibble@vm.temple.edu>

Quotes

[During practice in the gym, Popki throws a wild pass that bounces off the rim of the basketball hoop]
Coach Rig: How about that, he stinks at two sports.
Coach Gennero: I can work with him, just butt out of my offense.
Coach Rig: If you can build an offense around a guy who throws like Edward Scissorhands, we're going to be playing a hell of alot of defense.

Not Bad.
18 March 2003 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

In the pantheon of football movies it's not the best, but not the worst by far. It's a decent comedy for the generation when it came out. The ensemble cast worked well together and anything with Kathy Ireland in it can't be all that bad. Sinbad also looked like someone who may have played football before going to teaching. 6/10
