Trivia:

The film's original title was "Born Jaundiced", which the producers understandably elected to change. To do that, they offered a $500 incentive to whichever Imagine employee who could come up with the best alternative. As a lot of the film is set in a funeral parlor, a lot of the suggestions were along the lines of "Mourning Glory", "In Lieu of Flowers" and "Dearly Departed". Other alternatives included "Vada!" (the name of Anna Chlumsky's lead character) which was rejected on the grounds that it sounded like a South African uprising, and "I Am Woman". Ultimately, it was the film's producer Brian Grazer who came up with My Girl (and presumably pocketed the $500 reward himself).

Goofs:

Continuity: At the bingo hall, the announcer calls B-39, but a few minutes later, the bingo board is shown and B-39 is not lit up.

This film is fantastic. Honestly, i have never cried so much watching a movie, and i don't cry at movies much. But even though the bits towards the end which will have you bawling are what the film is remembered for, everything in this film is just...fantastic. parts are hilarious,parts are just sweet, and by the end of the film, you are genuinely caring for the characters.

If you haven't seen this film, WATCH IT. But don't find out what happens, watch it first. I lent the video i have to some friends, and all of them loved it, and told me they cried.

Seriously, this film will make you cry. big time.
