What Happened To The Trailer for Excision?!

3 hours ago | iconsoffright.com | See recent Icons of Fright news »

So a few weeks back, our Icons staffer Justin brought to my attention this little indie flick called Excision via his news post here about it. I had never heard of writer/director Richard Bates Jr who makes his feature length debut with this flick, but I was immediately blown away by the concept, the tone, the content and the pacing of the trailer, all brilliantly cut to Nine Inch Nails “Closer”; a fitting backdrop considering the films’ subject matter. Shortly thereafter, the trailer was yanked off You Tube for copyright infringement, which at first I was a little confused by. Did the trailer leak out earlier than it was supposed to? What was the reasoning behind the sudden pull for a trailer that was unanimously getting some mighty high praise across the board?

Turns out for whatever reason that Nine Inch Nails track wasn’t approved and a replacement »

AnnaLynne McCord & Traci Lords: It's the Nsfw Trailer for Excision

16 hours ago | shocktillyoudrop.com | See recent shocktillyoudrop news »

Update: After being asked to remove the trailer, Archstone Distribution has now informed us we can re-post.  If you missed this the first time, enjoy...

AnnaLynne McCord - who you probably know for her turns in 90210 and Nip/Tuck - drops the "glam" and shares some screen time with Traci Lords in Excision, a horror flick which played to Sundance Film Festival audiences earlier this year.

We've got the trailer for you and, honestly, I'm not sure what we're looking at, but the preview works, touting an offbeat cast and a track from Nine Inch Nails

Synopsis: Life sucks when you're seventeen. Alienated teen Pauline (AnnaLynne McCord) struggles with the pressures of fitting into high school, pleasing her parents and a burning desire to lose her virginity. With a grotesque curiosity for the darker side of life, Pauline is considered a social outcast by everyone around her. Enticed by flesh, »

Must See – Nsfw Excision Trailer/Poster Loves The Red Stuff!

11 May 2012 10:40 AM, PDT | iconsoffright.com | See recent Icons of Fright news »

I’m not quite sure what to make of Excision, but judging from the Red Band trailer below it’ll be quite explicit. Newcomer Richard Bates Jr has a dual role as Director & Writer and looks to have injected quite a bit of angst and dream like imagery into this. If anything it boasts an interestingly diverse cast – including AnnaLynne McCord (looking intensely grimy), Traci Lords, Malcolm McDowell, Ray Wise and even John Waters!  No release date has been set but Anchor Bay has really been on the ball lately with acquiring indie horrors and promptly releasing them, safe to say this will be out later this year. Excision is definitely on our radar, what say you readers?
