Great Movie
3 April 2005 | by (Norway) – See all my reviews

It is very hard to get movies like this in Mexico, but I was lucky and caught it on TV. At the beginning it looked like a typical war movie, and I was not very sure of keep on watching it, however, I did, and I am glad I did, and it is because it is not a typical war movie. The story is around an old catholic woman that will try to hide a little Jewish girl in the Poland of the 2th World War, when it was death penalty to hide any Jewish people. They travel to the country to avoid any kind of contact with German soldiers, and to get it they have to take a train and be with lots of people Thar are checking to the others to see if they find any Jewish people. The story is very well treated, and specially in the old woman, you can see all kind of human (very human)reactions after being in the middle of the war, from the total happiness to the total anger. The end though is very sad is completely unexpected.
