The Show must go on!
15 August 2001 | by (Järvenpää, Finland) – See all my reviews

Queen is, without a moment of doubt, the very greatest rock group world has ever seen. Their ability to use various different music styles is unique and the quantity of smash hit songs is just unbelievable. It's safe to say, in 20 years of time they've done it all to give the audience around the world an impression that will never fade.

Phenomenal voice of the late Freddie Mercury, Brian May's ulramelodic guitar, John Deacon's brilliant bass play and Roger Taylor's dazzling work behind the drum set is a combination of a perfect rock band. "Greatest Flix II" is an excellent collection of their music videos from the 80's and 90's.

Many of them are visually ground-breaking, for example "A Kind of magic". It's directed by Russell Mulcahy who used Queen's music in his hit movie "Highlander" starring Christopher Lambert, "Radio Ga Ga" - a tribute to Fritz Lang's classic "Metropolis" or funny "The Invisible man" in where a computer game has an important role - an idea afterwards used in several music videos by another bands.

"I Want it all", "I Want to break free", "Who wants to live forever", "I'm going slightly mad", "One vision"...this video is an awesome package of splendid camera work, magnificent ideas and the very best music you can find. Marvel the train used in the video of "Breakthru", see the little Freddie/Brian/John/Roger lookalikes in "The Miracle" and watch the video of "The Show must go on" - a flashback to the memorable history of Queen.

If you check this video and can't find anything that pleases you, pop music is simply not for you. Watch "Queen's Greatest Flix II" and take a journey to the world of the finest rock n' roll group music history has ever known.
