Marvel Studios absolutely brought down the house over the weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, after taking a year off from presenting in the famed Hall H. This year more than made up for last year, and after more than an hour of amazing footage, announcements and fan service, they dropped a bomb by finally revealing that Oscar winner Brie Larson is playing Captain Marvel. Now that we know who is playing her, all eyes are on the empty director's chair, and we may know who Marvel Studios is eyeing to fill it.
Marvel Studios is making a big push for diversity at the moment, so it seems likely that they will want a woman to direct Captain Marvel, much in the way that Warner Bros. had Patty Jenkins direct Wonder Woman.
