Close My Eyes reworks many of the themes from Stephen Poliakoff's stage play 'Hitting Town.' There's still the plot of a torrid, brother/sister love affair, but it includes the upheaval of the London Docklands development, the late 80s recession, and the AIDS scare, which had just emerged out into the open.
Alan Rickman gets top billing on the credits and on the poster, despite not getting nearly as much screentime as Clive Owen, possibly because Rickman was known more to international audiences, due to his roles in Die Hard and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
