A hidden jewel

Like many portuguese movies of the early 90's, this one passed unnoticed. And if, at a superficial scrutiny this is a badly-dubbed, terribly mixed movie where you sometimes can't understand some lines, on the other hand this is a gripping whodunit, that interests you if you give it a chance. Jorge is a peaceful DJ that becomes involved on the illegal affairs of his boss, Queirós. In the middle, the misterious Cláudia manages to seduce both of them, and the clash between Jorge, Queirós and his hitman, Hélder, will happen. Reading it like this, it looks like an american movie, and the formula tht gave birth to this one is very much from that source. But this one is portuguese, and one of the few movies that tried to make the portuguese cinema be something more than intellectual pretensions. GIve it a go, be patient, and you know you won't waste your time. Kudos to the score and most of all Daniel Del Negro's cinematography.
