They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky, they’re all together ooky, and they could be coming to a toy shop near you, should the Addams Family Mansion concept set garner enough support on Lego Ideas.

Over on the Lego Ideas site, user afol777 is already over 3/5 of the way to the magical 10,000 total for his rather impressive set, which is based upon the classic U.S. sitcom The Addams Family and faithfully recreates their home with a whopping 7,200-piece build. Check out some images here…

If you like what you see, head on over to the Lego Ideas website to help make this a reality.

John Ostrander: Strip Grade

22 May 2016 5:00 AM, PDT | Comicmix.com | See recent Comicmix news »

I’m not keen on moving these days. When I switch my homestead to a new location, I have to find all the spots I was taking for granted – food stores, gas stations, mechanics, restaurants and so on. It usually also means I have to find a new newspaper. Yes, I’ve just proclaimed myself to be a dinosaur and I still read the newspaper every morning over breakfast.  Yes, I know they offer electronic editions but I like one I can hold in my hands.

Assuming there is more than one local newspaper (or local-ish), I have to make a choice as to which one I’ll read. I have two primary criterions – where they fall on the political spectrum and what comic strips they have. The latter may be more important to me than the former. I was raised in a Republican household in Chicago so we got »

Marvelous DA7E: Captain Marvel Exists, Avengers 3 & 4 Transform

4 May 2016 2:14 PM, PDT | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

There was a song I was taught in school when we were learning how to write all the letters that was set to The Addams Family theme song tune. It went “Start at the top!” *snap snap* “Start at the top!” *snap snap* … etc. It meant that when you are writing print (non-cursive) letters, you start the lines from the top of the shape. It comes to mind when I start writing about superhero movie news a lot, because I’m not sure what “the top” is, but I think I should start there.

I’ll take a bold guess at topness and touch on something else before we get to Captain America: Civil War and changes with Infinity War Parts 1 and 2.

We’ve heard a rumor that Marvel Studios has found their Captain Marvel (!!!), but is a secret and we don’t know what actress got the part. The »

‘Three’s Company’ Movie May Come Knock on Your Door

21 April 2016 12:30 PM, PDT | Slash Film | See recent Slash Film news »

Plenty of classic TV shows have been given the big screen treatment. The Brady Bunch got a pair of spoof-esque movies, while The Addams Family got a couple movies that were a little more earnest and charming. Plus The A-Team and 21 Jump Street got two very different big screen updates, just to name a […]

Kevin Spacey Is A Talking Cat In New Trailer For 'Nine Lives'

15 April 2016 6:15 AM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

There are a lot of questions one could ask about "Nine Lives," but mostly they revolve how anybody convinced Kevin Spacey, Christopher Walken, and Jennifer Garner to star in this thing. Granted, they all probably got some nice vacation money for doing it, but at what cost? Read More: The Essentials: 6 Kevin Spacey Performances Regardless, there is a weird can't-look-away quality to the movie from Barry Sonnenfeld ("Men In Black," "The Addams Family"), which centers on a high-powered businessman who is cursed with living as a cat until he learns to be more attentive to his family. Here's the official synopsis, which is way too long for this kind of movie: Tom Brand (Kevin Spacey) is a daredevil billionaire at the top of his game.  His eponymous company FireBrand is nearing completion on its greatest achievement to date - the tallest skyscraper in the northern hemisphere. But Tom's workaholic lifestyle »

Neil Patrick Harris Closes Deal To Headline Netflix’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events

14 March 2016 11:01 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

First linked with the coveted part since back in January, it’s understood that How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris has finally closed a deal to join Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, the upcoming small-screen reboot of Lemony Snicket and Daniel Handler’s dark family drama.

Stepping into the crooked and elongated shoes of Count Olaf – a role originally portrayed by Jim Carrey in the 2004 fantasy adventure – Harris’ character will be the bane of the Baudelaires, a distant relative who welcomes Violet, Klaus, and Sunny into his home soon after their parents pass away during a, you guessed it, unfortunate event. In the novels, Olaf is a malevolent and conniving trickster, and while we readily expect that to carry over to Netflix’s TV reboot, the show will likely have a slightly lighter tone to ensure it reaches a larger demographic.

A Series Of Unfortunate Events Expands Its Cast For Netflix

27 January 2016 3:27 AM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

As it continues to expand its roster of commissioned programming, Netflix is unarguably going from strength to strength. This trend continues with its upcoming show, the Paramount TV-produced A Series Of Unfortunate Events – which is an episodic telling of the popular series of children’s novels, previously produced as a Jim Carrey movie. Now, the series has now cast two more of its key characters, as the project nears production.

The source material comprises 13 children’s novels by the author Daniel Handler – writing under the pseudonym Lemony Snicket. It centres on three siblings – Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire – who are orphaned when their parents perish in a mysterious and tragic fire. The children find themselves in the care of their sinister uncle, Count Olaf, whose primary motivation for welcoming the trio is limited to his pursuit of their considerable inheritance. The dark tale encompasses Olaf’s attempts to swindle the children, »
