Storyline

Red Green is a bearded Canadian carpenter who's really handy with his hands, and can find great uses for duct tape. He hosts "The Red Green Show", where he and his nerdy nephew, Harold, teach the viewers how to make excellent and useful crafts, as well as give marriage advice, from their home at Possum Lodge. Also, he plays games with Dalton Humphries where he must try to get him to guess a word by giving examples of it or saying a sentence it would be used in. Red also appears in a black-and-white series with the bungling Bill Smith were they show young viewers things like how to hunt and the existence of gravity. Other characters who frequently appear are the deprived Ranger Gord, who lives on top of a 100-foot tower on top of a 200-foot hill, has been guarding the watch tower for 16 years without a vacation and has no friends; the golf-obsessed loser Bob Stuyvestant who knows nothing about women; Buzz Sherwood, a daredevil pilot; and Winston Rothschild III, a loyal! Trivia

In the first seasons Harold was seen many times with what he referred to as a video controller for the show, which he had slung over his shoulder like a guitar. The controller was in reality the control panel off of an Ampex VR-2000 2" (quad) video tape machine with a set of rabbit ears attached. See more »

Goofs

In season 7, Ranger Gord's tower falls down and Gord appears in the Lodge for the first time. He also appears in the Lodge during season 8. However, in Season 9, Gord is back in his tower, without any mention of leaving it (or the tower falling down). See more »

Fantastic
18 September 2003 | by (manitoba, canada) – See all my reviews

A fantastically funny show about Red Green and some other men living up at Possum Lodge in the Yukon Territory. It's Canadian, but you don't need to be Canadian to love this show. Some of the older episodes are a little bit boring, but they still manage to top American shows like "Will and Grace". I will be very sad if this show goes off the air.
