Storyline

This was an early 90's sitcom comedy that revolved around a hospital floor staff in Miami, Florida. It primarily centered on the female nurses but also some doctors and an orderly named Paco. Richard Mulligan's character (Harry Weston) from the show, Empty Nest, was a pediatric doctor whom also worked at this hospital. In other words the show was a spin off from Empty Nest. Although, Empty Nest, was on television before and after this show. Written by taraforgy

Golden Girls Grandchild!
21 March 2007 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

If the Golden Girls gave birth to Empty Nest, then Empty Nest gave birth to Nurses, a sitcom, which featured the talented and underused Stephanie Hodge who left the show. Arnetia Walker was very good as one of the nurses as Ada Maris. The show also included Loni Anderson as a hospital administrator. The show was never as good as Empty Nest nor was it as brilliant as Golden Girls but sitcoms were abundant in it's day. Unfortunately those sitcoms haven't resurfaced or returned to the popularity it once had on the networks since the Golden Girls and Cosby Show days. Unfortunately, I think we need laughter that is not so based on sexuality like Will and Grace and annoyance like Friends. Good comedy does not have to be dirty or x-rated. The Nurses never became the huge hit nor was it supposed to be. It was there to fill a spot in Saturday's sitcom schedule.
