This was an early 90's sitcom comedy that revolved around a hospital floor staff in Miami, Florida. It primarily centered on the female nurses but also some doctors and an orderly named Paco. Richard Mulligan's character (Harry Weston) from the show, Empty Nest, was a pediatric doctor whom also worked at this hospital. In other words the show was a spin off from Empty Nest. Although, Empty Nest, was on television before and after this show. Written by taraforgy

Well I guess they had to put something on Saturday night
8 February 2003 | by (America) – See all my reviews

Nurses was a blank show, bland and unfunny at best. It was a show that survived on Saturday night for three years on NBC. I was really bored back in my pre-teen years and watched this show on a Saturday night. I guess there was not anything else on, believe me I tried to find something better, I couldn't.

The show at first was centered around Annie Roland, the head nurse at a Miami hospital. There were all kinds of characters on the show, none of which were particularly appealing or funny. The one exception to this was long time character actor David Rasche who really provided the few funny lines there were on the show.

The show was so routine so mundane. The show was too routine. I guess it wasn't really a bad show it just didn't stick its neck out. The show was a spin-off of Empty Nest, the popular Saturday night show starring Richard Mulligan and was actually quite funny. Somehow this show missed that humor.

The show's most interesting moment came when Loni Anderson joined the cast in 1993. She made headlines of all the magazines for a brief time. She was so widely covered because this was the first major thing she did after her break up with Burt Reynolds. The show did get a lot of publicity and when she first came on the show she got so much applause in her first appearance the audience clapped for five minutes. But it was to no avail and Loni Anderson's first year was the shows last.

Firstly Saturday is a hard night. Secondly because it is so hard all of the bad shows go on Saturday night. The show was on Lifetime for a little while but it has washed away into cancellation where all bad shows belong. If it is on somewhere and I don't know it please do yourself a favor and watch something else.
