Actress, author and victim advocate, Theresa Saldana, died on June 6, 2016, at the age of 61. Saldana was perhaps best known for playing Rachel Scali, wife of police commissioner Tony Scali (Michael Chiklis), on The Commish TV show, which ran from 1991 to 1996 before being cancelled by ABC.

After The Commish ended, Saldana played Christina Vargas (aka Diana Martinez) on ABC's now-cancelled soap opera, All My Children. A decade prior to that, she played Carlotta Quivar on NBC's cancelled daytime drama series, Santa Barbara. She also voiced the character, Rosa, in the 1990 animated New Kids on the Block TV series, which was cancelled by ABC after one season of 16 episodes.

Theresa Saldana, known for her role on the early Michael Chiklis series “The Commish” and the Scorsese-De Niro film “Raging Bull,” has died at age 61, Chiklis confirmed via Twitter on Tuesday. “Painful to hear the news of Theresa’s passing. My family & I extend our love, condolences & support to her family in their time of grieving,” Chiklis wrote. Saldana began her onscreen career in the 1978 Robert Zemeckis film “I Wanna Hold Your Hand,” which was a fictional comedy about the impact of Beatlemania. The actress reportedly died at the age of 61 of undisclosed causes following a Los Angeles hospital stay.

Saldana received a 1994 supporting actress Golden Globe nomination for her work as the wife of small town police commissioner Tony Scali, played by Michael Chiklis. She also appeared on many popular TV series such as All My Children, Law & Order and T.J. Hooker. Her final guest appearance was on The Bernie Mac Show.

Now that you have had a few days to come down from the season finale of Gotham, you may have started wondering when you can own the home video release. Thankfully, Fox and Warner Bros. opted to not wait very long at all to announce that the complete second season will arrive on Blu-Ray on August 16. One would also expect a DVD release on that very date, but it remains unclear whether or not it will contain all of the featurettes included on its mighty Blu-Ray counterpart.
