A Little Touch of Hell!, 13 February 2001
Author: Son of Cathode from New England

Stylish and polished updating of the 70s/80s "Good Man in Bad War" genre of Vietnam flicks, several of which star/director Ginty played in himself (Who can forget THE EXTERMINATOR?). Ginty made a name for himself in TV's THE PAPER CHASE, but will forever be remembered for his roles as a pretty-boy action-hero in dozens of low budget foreign potboilers. This here, however, is an exciting and beautiful film, shot in real-life "Little Saigon," a bizarre, corrupt Chinatown clone that's nestled in the heart of Houston, Texas, filled with teeming masses of Viet refugees and their descendents, all trying to scrape together a living in the land of (diminishing) opportunity. An interesting departure for Ginty, who is still directing today.
