Quotes

Sudie Harrigan: Preacher Miller, does negroes go to hell even if they's nice?
Preacher Clifford Miller: Sudie, people who have been saved do not go to hell.
Lem Coker, Linlow Ga. Townsman: Yeah, but it's hell saving a nigger, ain't it preacher?
[Sudie leaves]
Lem Coker, Linlow Ga. Townsman: Why she asking about niggers? She never even seen one.
Mr. Lester Clark: Strange kid that Sudie, I'm always telling Charlotte to keep Mary Agnes away from her.
Lem Coker, Linlow Ga. Townsman: It wouldn't be a bad idea Lester. Niggers going to heaven? Why, if one just sets foot in this town, I'll make them go the other way and damn fast!
Mr. Lester Clark: You wouldn't be alone Lem.

Will be a Classic

Sara Gilbert proves what a talented actress she is in this film, even at only 15 she plays an amazing part.

The film is set in 1950's Linlow, Georgia and basically follows Sudie who meets a blackman, Simpson. She starts off being afraid thinking he'll eat her, but the towns prejudices soon leaves Sudie and they become the best of friends.

A lot more happens during the film, but I cant give too much away.

Considering it was made for TV, this is a film with many elements, including comedy and a lot of emotion.

I dont normally get emotional during a film, but Sara Gilbert's performance was so brilliant.
