Check out the Beautiful Costumes of Beautiful Creatures

6 December 2012 5:15 PM, PST | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

Wardrobe can be a key component in the success or failure of a film, and that's especially true in a project like Beautiful Creatures. Check out this video chat with Jeffrey Kurland, who had the immense task of capturing the physical essence of the film's "extraordinary" characters through their costumes.

"It was an interesting job to say the least," Kurland tells MTV. "The characters are extraordinary because they range in emotion, not just in their physicality, but in their emotion. They exude a presence that I needed to capture physically on screen."

The story is set primarily in contemporary times, but the Gothic tale borrows heavily from the past, wardrobe included. "As far as what costumes say, they tell a story," Kurland adds. "They tell a visual story. This is just a sampling but by no means [all] you're going to see when you see the movie. Hopefully you will enjoy that. »

New Trailer For Beautiful Creatures Debuts Online

16 November 2012 10:40 AM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

With the conclusion of the awful Twilight saga finally here, studios are looking to find the next big film franchise for teens to go gaga over. One attempt to do so is coming in the form of an adaptation of the book Beautiful Creatures, the first in a supposedly popular series of novels.

Today, thanks to /Film, we have a new trailer for the film, and boy does it look cheesy. Just in these two and a half minutes, you get a sampling of how bad the dialogue is going to be (“I like you.” “You don’t know anything about me.”) and how silly the story is. But my oh my, what talent they’ve managed to amass for it: Jeremy Irons, Viola Davis, Emmy Rossum, And Emma Thompson. It’s almost enough to make you think that this could be good.

In case you’re not familiar with the book/upcoming movie, »

The Beautiful Creatures Teaser Inexplicably Draws Me In

21 September 2012 12:56 PM, PDT | Cinelinx | See recent Cinelinx news »

Warner Bros. has release the first teaser for Alcon Entertainment's Beautiful Creatures.  It's a supernatural love story, and even though I knew exactly what it was trying to do to me, the teaser managed to suck me in and make me curious to see it.

Without too much finger pointing, in short, it's really trying to set itself up as another Twilight-esque tale.  There are young kids in school who fall for each other, but there's a bunch of weird supernatural stuff that tries to get in there way.  Sounds familiar doesn't it?  Even so, I somehow became intrigued by it.  I can't say exactly what it is, but something about it feels a little deeper than how Twilight has handled things, and thus, may be worth a gander.

If you're curious for more info check out the details sent along with it:
